Memento Mori

The cult of youth has become a symptom of modern society. The omnipresent image of the idealistic beauty of the human body as portrayed in advertisements is merely an illusion, encouraging us to shun the natural aging process.

But our body ages faster than we think. From the age of 20, the number of nerve cells in the human brain decreases. From our mid-twenties, our skin starts to age, causing fine wrinkles and thin, transparent skin, though the first signs may not be visible until our mid-30s. Before we reach the age of 30, our bones and muscles will have weakened, and our lung capacity will have decreased.

Just like fresh, exotic fruits and vegetables, humans are subject to the inevitable impact of the passage of time.

Memento Mori.
